Inspired by her - Made for you

Showcasing a blend of handmade and handpicked pieces, each chosen to reflect personal style. Some I craft myself, others I source with intention.

Who are Margaret and Maddy?

I’m Maddy, and Margaret is my Nan.

Now in my thirties, with Nan in her nineties, I’ve had the privilege of watching her create for most of my life. In recent years, she has slowly lost the ability to make. I have felt a need to honour what she passed down. Not just skills, but stories, creativity, and the joy of making something from scratch.

Nan trained as a seamstress, of courtier standard. She was the go-to in our family for everything from alterations and knitting to cakes.

Mum recalls flipping through fashion magazines in her teens and twenties, and Nan making her the latest pieces by eye. As a Vogue collector myself, this always fascinated me.

I also remember being a young child, captivated by her Singer sewing machine, tucked into its custom made cabinet. It looked so different from Mum’s. That machine was her pride, but when it needed repair, she used a substitute she would later be given to me, because, in her words, “nothing is fast enough.” - I still use that machine today.

My own journey has been shaped by both her influence and my own curiosity.

While my career has taken me through retail, hospitality, and events, creativity has always been at my core. I have studied Graphic design, Textiles, Jewellery making, Interior design - you name it.

I am most drawn to print, photography, and anything hands-on.

Although forever developing, one dream stayed with me through my growing and adventuring: to one day open a store where I could share creativity, skills, and beautiful, thoughtful products with others.

I am sure you can see this reflected in what I offer. This is just the beginning.

Thank you for taking your time to read and browse, it means so much to have you and others being part of the journey.
